Maelstrom is set to closed on Sunday, October 5 in order for it to be transformed into a Frozen based ride which is set to open in early 2016.

The new attraction will take guests to Arendelle and immerse them in many of their favourite moments and music from the film, according to the Disney Parks blog.

Disney also announced that the Norway Pavillion will see the addition of Frozen characters for meet and greets. but again, this is not set to begin for a little while – we’ll keep you posted on that – but for now, they can be found in the usual place over in Magic Kingdom.

If you’re a fan of Maelstrom, we know this is bad news for you, but the good news is you can still book your Fastpass for the ride up until October 5 on MyDisneyExperience.
