The newest attraction to Universal’s Islands of Adventure is set to open by the end of this year according to team members working in the parks.
We spoke to a Universal team member whilst in the park today who said that King Kong is set to be finished and ready for soft opening by the holiday period in December.
For those of you who aren’t aware, the new ride – called Skull Island: Reign of Kong – will allow you to come face to face with the legendary gorilla in an oversized 72-seat truck.
A Universal spokesperson confirmed that guests will enter the trip through a 70-foot high wall into the depths of Kong’s jungle when the ride opens – which they confirm will be in “Early 2016.”
This isn’t the first King Kong attraction that Universal have had, after the studios part of the resort had Kongfrontation which closed in order to make way for The Revenge of the Mummy attraction in the late 1990s.
As always this is a rumour article so stick with us for more updates in the coming months.
