It’s the question that is always on everyone’s lips – when is the best time to go to Orlando every year…
Firstly we’re going to focus the best time in 2016, because there are plenty of changes coming up in 2017 that will make the best time to go a little different, such changes include the opening of Universal’s brand new waterpark Volcano Bay.
There is never a solid best time to visit Orlando, as we think that by using the planning tools that we provide on our website, you can happily plan to go any time of the year and be successful, however, there are times that are better to visit than others based on crowd levels and weather.
Even when looking to go in the month we have suggested, or any other month, we would still recommend using our handy itinerary planner to help you plan your visit and to help you get the most out of your time in the sunshine state!
Looking through the months of information we have about Orlando, we have come to the conclusion that for 2016, the best time to go to Orlando would be October, so here’s what we based it on:
Nobody wants to walk around the huge parks in extremely humid weather, which is why we don’t recommend visiting Orlando in the summer months of June to August. October in Orlando usually is around 28-30C and is less humid that the summer months. There are the occasional thunderstorms, but they’re not as bad as some other times.
There are several events in Orlando throughout the year, but the best time to visit in our opinion for events is October. This falls right on Halloween and with several parks taking part in Halloween it’s definitely a time not to be missed. You can visit Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights or Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party or event Howl o’ Scream at Seaworld/Busch Gardens.
3. Queues / Wait Times
Wait times in the lines for the rides at Universal Studios and Walt Disney World are significantly lower during September and October due to less people visiting both internally and domestically. Most schools both in the US and abroad go back to school in September, meaning the wait times are usually 40 minutes lower than they are in peak times. The minions ride was 120 minutes in July this year, compared to 20 minutes in September and 30 minutes in October, meaning you can get more done in a shorter period.
There you have it, the best time to visit Orlando in 2016. Keep an eye out for the best times to visit in 2017 and of course you can always let us know your favourite time to visit on Twitter or Facebook.
