Disney testing a cash-less resort at Animal Kingdom Lodge in February

We’ve just been told that Walt Disney World are starting to test a cash-less concept at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge in February.

Beginning 12 Feb, Jambo House will be the first location to accept electronic payment only for all purchases and services, meaning that you’ll not be able to pay with cash at the resorts outlets.

The only accepted forms of payments at the resort include MagicBands, credit & debit cards, Disney Gift Cards, Disney Rewards Redemptions and Apple & Android pay. It’s worth noting however, that if you’re staying at the resort you can use cash to add to your room charge capabilities (MagicBands) and for tips.

It’s quite an interesting move by Disney and we’re wondering if this is a sign of things to come from the rest of the Walt Disney World Resort? We know that they’ve been toying with the idea of a cashless environment, and we guess this is just the start of more to come.

If you have a dining reservation booked at the resort, you should get a notification of the change from Disney shortly.
